buy a ford, maybe a focus. same class of car but way better than the cobalt and more reliable. my buddy had the ss cobalt and its been one problem after another since 15000 miles. the toyota corolla is good too, a l ittle more expensive but youll never have a problem with it. my friend has a 89 corolla with 450000 miles and never had anything go on it except regular maintenence things like tires brakes tune ups and shiit like that

Get the supersport model they come with a turbo. Of course the turbo and a smaller engine 2.0L on the supersports as opposed to a 2.2L on LS/LT models. Also I do believe theres probably a modified exhaust system available for the Cobalts now.

I own a 2006 Cobalt LS. Gets pretty good gas mileage, its not modified in anyway, has the 2.2L 4 cylinder and 5 speed manual tranny. Just wish it had more room in the back seat, and a larger trunk opening. Pretty decent car although I did have a clutch problem on mine about 4500 miles which the dealership adjusted the clutch and I havent had any further problems.

I recommend getting an upgraded stereo package as the base package CD player won't play MP3 cds.

Put in a perfomance chip instead of the original, and put in a straight muffler pipe all the way back or leave the muffler pipe alone and put a rocket muffler tip on it.

I can certainly understand seeking to boost the horsepower.

But give some thought to us who are your neighbors, pedestrians and other people in traffic with you.

We do not want to listen to your loud and rumbling car.
